Congratulations on securing your entry to experience some of the best trail running in Sydney. This truly is a beautiful location to host an event. The popularity of the Jabulani Challenge continues with the event selling out again this year.

If you haven’t had a look through the official Event Program yet you should do so before event day. It contains all the information you need to know, such as what time to arrive, how to get there, where the aid stations are located and what nutrition is available at the aid stations. All these questions plus more are answered in the Event Program.

One question you’re probably still working out is ‘How am I going to get there’. While many will drive please be aware that parking is limited at Bobbin Head. Also your entry does not cover the $12 NPWS parks entry fee which you will need to pay at Bobbin Head at the parking meters. NPWS recommend bringing $12 in coins to prevent delays with their card systems. If you can join some fellow runners and carpool to the event we strongly encourage you to do so.

Another option to access the event is by making use of the shuttle bus service that is provided from Turramurra Train Station. Leaving from the Rohini St Bus Stop across the road from the train station the shuttle bus takes runners directly to the start line. Leaving from Turramurra at 6am, 7am and 8am. Simply look for the marked bus.

Transfers & Course Changes

Now that online transfers and course changes have closed, last minute participant transfers and course changes can now only be done on race morning at registration.

Course Changes

If you are looking to downgrade or upgrade distances on the day this can still be done. You will need to head to the ‘Transfers’ desk at registration to complete the change. You will be allocated with a new race plate to reflect your new distance. Runners stepping down in distance are NOT eligible for any refunds while runners going up in distance will need to pay the difference in entry price between the two distances.

Please note that failure to complete this change could see you directed along your original course by staff and event marshals along the route.

Transfers

Replacement runners are required to bring along written proof/registration confirmation (a message/email on your phone will suffice) from the original runner. You will need to line up at the ‘Transfers’ desk at registration to complete the transfer.

On the day transfers will incur a $20 admin fee (payable by the new runner), cash preferred. Exchange of funds for original race entry fees will be a private transaction between the two runners. Please allow extra time to complete registration on race morning. To help speed up the process we recommend filling out the attached ‘Transfer Form’ below and bringing with you on the day.

45km Course Change

Due to a rock slip on the course just below the old turnaround point at the Wildflower Gardens, St Ives on the 45km course a slight change has been made.

The below map shows the new route with the 45km runners now coming up to the Wildflower Gardens at Endlicher Point rather than at Lamberts Clearing.

To make up for the lost distance on this out and back section the out and back section on the Darri Track has been lengthened slightly to maintain the 45km course distance.

Call for Volunteers

We still need for a few volunteers at the Jabulani Challenge. Volunteers could be assisting at one of the aid stations, acting as a trail marshal, handing out finishers medals or a variety of other tasks.

All volunteers at the Jabulani Challenge will receive a free volunteer t-shirt and cap; and will be provided with a snack bag to keep you going during the day. As an added bonus all volunteers are eligible for a free entry into one of Maximum Adventure’s great trail running events in 2018, either Raffertys Coastal Run or the Coastal Classic.
